Shannon Schulz, 45 years old, was born and resides in Buckeye, Arizona a small town 35 miles west of Phoenix Az Where he and his wife Sherri and son Clayton farm 2500 acres of alfalfa hay and operates a custom harvesting business.Schulz Farms produces and harvests 25000 plus tons of premium alfalfa hay annually for the dairy and export hay market.He has 5 children, sons Clayton 23 Chanse 18,Keith 9,And Daughters Kacey 19,And Sydney 16.
Shannons’ family has been raising and showing hogs for over 35 years where they have showed at their County fair,state fair and national shows such as World Pork Expo ,Regional NJSA shows and jackpot shows all over.Schulz Farms has a small show pig operation consisting of 25 Yorkshire,Hampshire,Chester White,Berkshire and Crossbred sows where they sell showpigs all over the western United States.Shannon has judged since in 4-H when he was 9 years old.Shannon was the Arizona State high individual in livestock judging in High School where his team went on to win the State FFA livestock judging contest and competed in Kansas City Missouri where Shannon was a gold Medal Individual.Shannon has judged county fairs and jackpot shows in Az and California and most recently judged the Western Bonanza in California. Shannon Says “There is no doubt in my mind that junior livestock shows play a vital role in developing young people and is looking forward to seeing great livestock and working with great kids at the show.
